How to get a library card

UNION COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM LIBRARY CARDS

New library cards are available for new and current patrons, free of charge! Email your name, address, phone number and date of birth to eldorado@ucpls.org.We will email you your card number and mail out your new card! New cards come with key ring cards and are used at Barton, Harper Memorial (Junction), Huttig, Norphlet, Smackover, Strong Libraries.  If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will have to contact us to get you a library card.

Inside Union County: Free
Outside Union County: $1.00 yearly renewal.
Replacement Card: $1.00

Access to the public computers are available. Wireless devices are able to connect to the Wi-Fi.

 Books & Audio Books

Books and Audio Books are available for checkout at all branches. Checkout period is two weeks.

High School Yearbooks

High School yearbooks available. Check with your local branch to see if they have them.

Polk Directories

Barton Library has an extensive collection of the El Dorado Polk Directories.

Public Computers & WiFi

All branches offer public computer use and free Wi-Fi. Patron card or guest pass required to use public computers.

Public Notary

Notary Services are available free of charge at Barton Library. Those signing must be present and have the required I.D on hand. Do not sign any documents until you are at the Notary.

Genealogy Books & Records

Births, deaths and family history can be found in the genealogy books and records located at Barton Library.

Microfiche & Microfilm

Microfiche reels from 1923 - 1959 available at Barton Library.

Book Sale

All branches offer books for sale. Barton has a book sale in the spring and fall.

Meeting/Study Rooms

Meeting spaces or independent study areas are available in all branches.

Arkansas History Collection

A collection of books about different aspects of Arkansas.

El Dorado News-Times

Barton Library and Smackover library has the current issues of the El Dorado News-Times.
